April 29th was "Green (Nature) Day" so Ki-rin and Michan, Mayu, Kotaro, Yuki and I all piled into the van and headed down to Hiroshima to Yuki's aunt and uncle's to go "hunting" for bamboo shoots.

We wound up digging up about 50 of the things.  Not bad for about an hour and a half of work.  What do you do with the things you might ask?  Well you can eat it as is, boil it, put it in rice, miso soup, gyoza...  The possibilities are endless.  Of course the majority of the 50 shoots got given to friends who weren't fortunate enough to be able to go and dig their own.
