Cherry blossoms are a big thing in Japan.  With trees all over the place, even growing wild in the mountains, it is hard not to get wrapped up in the festivities.  Cherry time is an excuse to party and many Japanese head out to their predetermined spot under the trees with colleagues or friends to partake in the scenery and their favourite beverages.
