December is referred to as "Shiwasu" (lit: running masters) in Japanese.  The word shiwasu is used to refer to the state of people frantically running around in preparation for the end of the year.  Having said that, one might imagine that Christmas time in Japan is a lot like Christmas time in Canada.  Right, and wrong.
