The
lady that fits us in our cheesy wedding gear had me try on pretty loud
stuff. There were tuxes with leather collars and leather pants to
a pink tux covered in satin stitching that looked like a circus uniform
(I didn't try that one on). I kept asking the lady for a plain
simple tuxedo. She said that those aren't popular in Japan and
kept having me try on these other ones. I tried the one in the
picture on and I even participated when she brought out the cane and top
hat. By now I was beginning to write off any hopes of finding a
plain old tuxedo in this country that is fascinated with
"image".
Well
when she told us that this tux was going to cost 1500 dollars to rent
and our wedding package only covers up to 600 dollars I put my foot
down. I told her to show me the 600 dollar tux and sure enough out
came the plain sharp looking black tux with a cumber bund and
bowtie. "But no one wears these" she said. I promptly
told her it will be no one but me! I still cant believe they
charge people 600 bucks to rent a plain old tux!!!! Wait till you
hear about the dress....
