Spring in Yachiyo is a remarkably beautiful time of year.  

It has only just turned spring and we have already had 4 festivals celebrating it's arrival.  Last weekend we made it out to the "renge (ren-gay - lotus flower??)" festival.  Check out the pictures below (renge are the little purple flowers under the carp streamers).  This festival is put on by one of the neighbourhoods in Yachiyo to celebrate both the arrival of spring and "Boy's Day (see Children's Day page)".

This month the huge rose garden in the town next to Yachiyo is the main attraction.  We will try to get out there and take some pictures for next month's page.
