January 19th Yuki had an altercation with the front door. Needless to say, Yuki's finger was no match for the steel front door. A quick run to the hospital led to a quick run to another hospital cuz emergency rooms over here don't handle everything. You have to call ahead. Anyways, the doctor asks us if we brought the missing piece with us. Going home and getting it would take too much time and they wouldn't be able to use it I am told. After Yuki gets her finger cleaned up and has some painkillers we head back home. I look around and sure enough there was a big chunk of flesh sitting in front of the door. For those of you with strong stomachs click here to see a picture of it!! Ironic thing about the whole incident is the next day Yuki was supposed to go into Kobe to have her fingerprints taken for security checks for her immigration application. Turned out a letter from the embassy allows her to get these checks done with only 9 fingers so we don't have to wait for her finger to heal before we can apply for immigration. The finger is healing along fine. It should return pretty close to normal. Won't know what they mean by pretty close for another couple of months.
