Yuki in a dress she tried on

The wedding plans seem to be going around in circles.  We had planned on having this lady that Yuki was introduced to do all of the planning and have the wedding at a nice restaurant in a town near Nishiwaki.  I didn't have good vibes about this lady's operation and when we found out that the flowers weren't even real, it wasn't hard to convince Yuki that we should look around a bit more.

Next we looked at having it in the town that we will be moving to in August, Yachiyo.  There is a big wedding facility there with a chapel and restaurant and all that kind of stuff.  May sound strange for a town of 1000 people to have such a set up but actually the town is kind of a resort type getaway for the urbanites.  Not quite Whistler but there is a lot of nature and it is quiet and relaxing.  Relaxing is about all you can do really; there isn't even a supermarket in town.

Yuki came across a wedding place in Osaka that has a pretty good wedding package.  I think we are going to do it there.  It is actually a hotel/sports club type place.  There will be French food so Lorraine should be able to find something she can eat.  We will probably have the second party (a traditional gathering at a restaurant for friends to attend) in Osaka as well and have everyone spend the night in Osaka.  That will be fun for all of the Canada people heading over here too.  A chance to see Osaka a bit.  It is a nice city.  I like it better than Tokyo.  Nothing is decided yet.  Yuki will go down to Osaka at the end of the month to check the place out and then she will decide.

Anyways, August will be here before we know it.  We still have a lot of planning to do and I will try to keep the proceedings posted here.  Oh yeah, the ring.  Costco over here sold the diamond we were going to buy but we will head to Osaka at the beginning of June and pick one up down there if Costco doesn't get a similar one in before then.

For those of you heading over from Canada, remember you have to fly to Kansai International Airport.  NOT Narita.  Kansai is the airport in Osaka.  It is a pretty cool airport.  It is a big floating airport out in the middle of the ocean.  I have not been there yet so I am looking forward to seeing it too.  I will give you further directions/instructions VIA this site as the date gets closer.  One last request that you all come (and leave) on the same day.  I know it will be tough to have Andrew show up at the same time but we won't have time to make the trips to the airport so if you all want to guarantee a ride from the airport, show up together.  If not we may have to get you on a bus and who knows where you will wind up (ha ha!).
